Love to Code Academy runs in-person coding classes for kids in grades K–8 at 248 NE Barry Road in Kansas City, Missouri. Choose after-school classes, week-long camps, or start with a free 60-minute trial class. No experience needed. Beginners start on day one and build something real before they leave. Coding is the environment we teach in. Character is the outcome, so students practice persistence when a build breaks, teamwork when they solve it together, and real pride when they present a finished project. Families from Liberty, Gladstone, Parkville, North Kansas City, Riverside, Smithville, and Kearney bring their kids here every week.
Coding is one of three learning tracks at Love to Code Academy, a character development academy for K–8 students in Kansas City. Students write real code to build games, apps, and interactive projects. We teach coding, and we are more than a coding school. Progress is measured by the Coding Belt System, which recognizes character growth alongside technical skill. We grow kids, not just coders.

Students advance through nine belts. Each one names who they are becoming, not just what they can build. A belt is earned when a student demonstrates both technical skill and character growth.

Does my child need coding experience?
No. Most students start with none. Coaches meet your child where they are, beginners start on block-based tools, and every new student builds something that works on day one. There is no prep work and no homework.
Is this just more screen time?
No. Class is in person, hands-on, and social. Your child works next to peers and a coach, talks through problems out loud, and leaves with something they built and can show you. Coding is the environment. Persistence, teamwork, and pride in a finished project are the outcome. We grow kids, not just coders.
What ages do you teach?
Grades K–8, roughly ages 5–14. Sessions are grouped by age so your child works with peers at a similar level. If your child sits on the edge between two groups, contact us and we will help you pick the right one.

Ways to take coding at LTCA
Coding runs as after-school coding classes during the school year, as coding camps for kids in Kansas City over school breaks, and through our coding competition teams for students who want to compete. Start with a free 60-minute coding trial if you are not sure which format fits.
Coding is one of three tracks. Students who like building with their hands often pair it with our robotics classes for kids, and older students can join the esports program in Kansas City for teamwork, strategy, and communication under pressure.
